Presidents Report.
Due to a hiccup in the scoring sheets for the Mini 40 “Show-n-Shine”,(about 500 of them had to be sorted, checked and counted on the day), the committee rechecked the sheets and have adjusted the results where necessary.

It is great to see the monthly meetings being so well supported with members putting forward suggestions and ideas about what they want to see the club doing.

The day run to Somerset Dam was another success considering the late arrival of the newsletter and the clash with Indy. Dave Perkins and Allison Yates led a stream of Minis along Ipswich Road to the Esk turn-off then up to Fernvale. Here we re-grouped having already lost Bob Ward with a small overheating problem. A brisk drive at 100kmh had Tony complaining about speeding, but we had arranged to meet Gary (Crash) and Enita at the base of Mt Glorious for the BBQ. As Peter Bosse has discovered girls, “Hi Megan”, he stayed at home, so Tracey York was elected the chief cook and the band of willing helpers fired up the BBQ’s and chopped salads. The ladies of the club decided the guy’s shirt looked out of place on them and engaged Tracey to find an alternative. This was shown over lunch and orders can be given to any committee member.

Speaking of Pete and his yellow Clubman motorkhana car, he has asked us to fit a programmable ignition distributor to his 1380 and if we have time “how about the supercharger” he said.

Fellow club member, Barry McFadyen, has kindly offered us the use of his property at Hattonvale for motorkhana and other dirt track type events. The committee will endeavour to arrange a suitable day. Thanks a heap Barry!

I have the Editors new Cooper 997 engine to build so must go!

Yours in Minis

Glen Carpenter.
