The Club Captian report.
What a fantastic day we had, despite the weather, last Sunday, November 21, our last day run for the year. After meeting at McDonalds in Upper Mount Gravatt, the 30 plus convoy of Minis headed to Nerang where we meet up with our Gold Coast members. The run took us to Kingscliff via the most beautiful areas of the Numinbah Valley, Springbrook National Park and the Natural Bridge. Once we hit the mountains the rain started. After a stop at the Natural Bridge we came across a “Mini Graveyard” in Chillingham. You wouldn’t think anyone would have so many wrecked Minis in their front yard, I am sure you were all impressed. Next stop, Murwillumbah, and then off to our lunch spot at Kingscliff where we meet up with some of the Northern NSW Mini Owners. By the time we arrived back home we had travelled nearly 300kms. I hope you got home safely and have dried out your cars. I would like to hear your comments on the day.

Our first Christmas Party will be held at the Goodna Rugby League Club on the 12th December and all members and their families are invited. We hope you will all join in the family fun activities and assist Santa who will be arriving in the National Nine News Chopper. Parents are asked to bring along a small labelled gift for Santa to give to your child. Don’t forget to bring along any unwanted parts for the “Swap Meet”, it might be your junk but someone else’s Christmas treasure. Our smorgasbord lunch is being organised by our club chef, Clarke Tunstall, and any assistance you can give him will be greatly appreciated. Come along and have a great time with all your club members at our first Mini Owners Club Xmas Party. Also a giant “Xmas Hamper” will be the prize for the raffle of the day, so make some space in the boot of the Mini.

Our Secretary Mark, has informed me that he has received over 25 renewals of membership for 2000, an excellent response in the first week. Keep them coming in as all members have to be financial to vote at the Annual General Meeting on the 8th February 2000.

With just over a few weeks to the festive season, I would like to thank everyone on the Committee for their friendship and support and also all the members I have meet since the club started. It has been a fantastic year for the Mini and the Club, so let’s keep it growing stronger into the new Millennium.

A merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you all.

Tony Formosa.
