FROM THE PRODUCTION LINE.

This month we start looking at the memorable events which took place in the early’60’s. The following is from the B.M.C. in house newspaper “The BMC Rosette” February 1965.

Special extras in police Cooper S for patrol duties Operated by the Commonwealth Police Force in the Canberra area, this Morris Cooper S has special interior equipment. Shown below is the calibrated speedometer fitted on the steering column. The knobs at each side operate the flashing blue light on the turret and the siren. A two way radio fits conveniently into a pocket in the back of the car.

The mounting of the light and the siren across the turret is done so that damage to the car is avoided.

Another federal department recently asked the sales section of B.M.C. to study the possibility of fitting additional items into the Cooper S's intended for delivery to Canberra.
