Christmas Party 1999. 12th December at Goodna Rugby League Club.
We did it again. Over 160 people and nearly 60 Minis turned out for our first Xmas party. The support of the members for the club is just fantastic.
Every event this year has been supported in this way, which proves that we must be doing something right.
A few surprises were arranged for the day, the first, a 1998 Mini Cooper, on loan from BMW, the agents for the 2001 Mini, was on show and available for a quick test drive around the oval.
The second, was the arrival of Santa in the National Nine News Chopper. A big thanks to Dave Perkins for talking nicely to Santa and arranging his visit. The kids, big and little, really appreciated it. Also thanks to National Nine News Chief Pilot, Bob Ward for the use of the Helicopter.
The lunch was organised and provided by Clarke Tunstall and was as good as you would get at the best five star hotels. If you are thinking of getting in caterers for a function give Clarke a call as he has just started a new business to handle such things.
The day was given that extra professional touch with Dave McGregor the M.C. You will all remember the great job he did at the Mini 40 and the Xmas party was just as good.
An extra treat to all members was a gift of a little model Mini to all those who attended, thanks to Club Captain Tony and President Glen.
The day was organised by Tony Formosa and again it went like clockwork. The venue, the Goodna Rugby League Club, proved to be an excellent choice.
